With Covid restrictions being eased we were able to attend this great Canadian VW event after a 3 year hiatus. BusFusion is one of the largest VW bus camping events and is held in the beautiful town of Almonte which is also famous for being known as the home of James Naismith - the inventor of basketball.
As this was a fairly long drive from Toronto, I arranged a small convoy from the Toronto area with some fellow VW van/bus club members and made arrangements to spend an overnight before the event beside the Rideau Canal. We started off with 3 Vanagons and had as many as 6 join our convoy and camp.
We arrived early at BusFusion the next morning and was able to pick a nice spot by the river to set up our home for a weekend of fun.
We brought our Kayak so we could all enjoy some water activities.
We also brought our bikes to explore the nearby area.
Hanging with the legend himself.
Of course the actual VW event had some great activities as well.
As Brooke is now 8 years old, I gave her a little project to sell some VW themed jewellery I purchased. She helped design her little "store" and turned out to be a great little salesperson selling 6 pendants and a keychain.
This will probably be our last BusFusion event but I'm happy we all could enjoy it one last time as the people, activities, and good times will be remembered for years to come.
